DURANGO AND SILVERTON - The Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad

This is the oldest narrow gauge railroad in operation, built by the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad in the early 1880s.  The train is powered by a steam locomotive over a century old.

Some of the photos at the end of the gallery are scenes taken along the highway between Telluride and Durango.
