GOLDFIELD

This is a small mining town just east of Victor in the Victor/Cripple Creek mining district.  These photos were taken at a roadside stop.  The 2 mile Vindicator trail along Battle Mountain leads to several old mines. This was a very prosperous area during the peak of the Cripple Creek gold rush in the late 1800s.
